Why is it important to you to raise the importance of women in the aviation industry?

Women and men have such diverse qualities that can truly complement each other. The majority of work environments I have been in, I was able to excel, because I filled gaps that my co-workers and sometimes superiors couldn’t fill, and vice versa. We need the ratio to be more balanced in order to modernise our industry and increase technology advancements.

What would your advice be to younger women trying to break into the aviation industry?

Demand a seat at the table, but don’t try to be the man in the room. Be different with pride in such a male dominated environment and embrace your qualities that set you aside.
