Winch Design moves into new studio in Putney
Winch Design is delighted to announce that the team has relocated downriver to a new studio in Putney, marking a significant milestone in the history of the company. From the early days in the Barnes studio, the river has always been significant to Winch Design. The constant presence of the water, along with the hum of the jets flying into Heathrow has a deep relevance to our work, which spans air, sea and land projects.
Over the past 38 years in our beautiful studios in Barnes, our business expanded from the iconic Old Fire Station across eight different buildings and the team now comprises of over 150 talented individuals. Over recent years we have been looking for a collective studio space that could accommodate our entire team to aid collaboration, foster creativity and strengthen communication. The relocation is not just a change of address; it is a strategic move to centralise the diverse talents that drive Winch Design's success. Bringing our entire creative team under one roof is highly anticipated, promising a fusion of ideas and expertise.
Our strength lies in our diverse talent, and the benefits of uniting our employee-owned business in one location are immeasurable. We look forward to fostering a truly collaborative environment that nurtures innovation and excellence and allows our clients to benefit from a symbiotic service across our yachts, aviation and architecture & interiors teams. Additionally, Putney's prime location near central London provides convenient access, ensuring smoother connections in and out of the city.
Spread across the top two floors of Parklife, the new studio is larger and brighter with fantastic views over Wandsworth Park and the River Thames from the roof terrace. The roof terrace and open-air oasis courtyard at the centre of Parklife provides a sanctuary to support the health, creativity and happiness of our team and offers a versatile space for entertainment. Parklife has been built with modern energy performance standards at the centre of the design, integrating nature into the building and promoting wellbeing and sustainability for the benefit of the occupiers and the wider community.
Work zones, social spaces, a vast material library and numerous presentation spaces will provide a truly team-oriented environment with better spaces to host and present to clients. In addition, the new studio benefits from abundant natural light, which will energize our team, enhance materials, and showcase the true beauty of our designs. The new Winch Eco Library (WEL) sits within one vast material library and showcases the latest and most innovative sustainable interior design creations, allowing our designers to discover new artisans and incorporate their work into our projects. Our dedicated in-house sustainable materials specialist manages our sustainable suppliers, analysing and tracking their sourcing, manufacturing and application methods to check they meet the correct criteria.
Our move to Parklife is more than just a change of location; it represents an exciting new chapter for Winch Design, fostering collaboration, sustainability, and well-being. We are excited to create a space that reflects our values, benefits our clients and supports our continued growth and success. We look forward to welcoming you into the new studio soon!
