WINCH DESIGN REVEALS LATEST COLLABORATION WITH SUMMIT FURNITURE - THE ARC DAY BED
Winch Design is delighted to introduce the Arc Daybed, a striking new addition to Summit’s acclaimed Arc Collection. Designed in close collaboration with Summit, the Arc Daybed brings a distinctly British design sensibility to the collection - one that draws on the studio’s maritime heritage, sculptural approach, and commitment to creating adaptable, human‑centred outdoor environments. Inspired by the elegance of grand coastal estates, the Arc Daybed commands attention with its generous proportions and refined architectural form. At its heart is an innovative split, curved backrest system - developed by Winch Design to offer exceptional versatility. Each panel can be positioned at any corner of the daybed, allowing the piece to shift effortlessly between social, contemplative, and panoramic lounging arrangements.
Michael Noah, Associate, Architecture and Yachts at Winch Design, explains: “Our intention was to bring the Arc Collection’s nautical DNA into a piece that genuinely responds to the way people live outdoors. The reconfigurable backrests allow the daybed to adapt throughout the day - whether you’re seeking privacy, conversation, or simply a moment to enjoy the view.”
The daybed showcases the Arc Collection’s signature craftsmanship, with laminated teak intricately woven between brushed stainless‑steel rods - a direct reference to traditional yacht detailing and the ropework found aboard classic sailing vessels. Crafted from premium teak and finished with meticulous precision, the Arc Daybed offers generous space for lounging and is available in Summit’s full range of performance fabrics.
Designed for luxury hotels, private members’ clubs, poolside terraces, superyacht decks, and coastal residences, the Arc Daybed embodies the shared values that underpin the long‑standing partnership between Summit and Winch Design: craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design integrity.
