THREE PILLARS

Scroll Down

Our strategy is structed around three interconnected pillars that bring these commitments to life.

Pillar 1: Life on Land, Sea and Air

Winch Design develops projects on land, sea, and air and has opportunities to reduce environmental impact across all three areas. This pillar focuses on sustainable design, climate action, and the health of our land, oceans, and skies.

SUSTAINABLE AND CIRCULAR DESIGN

Creating products, interiors, and materials that are both environmentally responsible and designed for longevity, reuse, and repurposing rather than disposal.

Objectives:

Offer all clients sustainable materials options

Adopt circular design approaches across all projects

CLIMATE ACTION

Taking deliberate steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build climate resilience across all aspects of our operations and projects - committing to an emissions reduction pathway that aims to achieve net zero by 2050.

Objectives:

Achieve net zero as a business by 2050

Drive down project carbon emissions

REGENERATING OUR OCEANS

Helping to restore and protect the health of the world's oceans. For Winch Design, this means reducing the impact of yacht and marine projects by working with partners such as the Water Revolution Foundation to measure and lower environmental footprints.

Objectives:

Work in partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation and other bodies to reduce the footprint of the yacht industry

Provide charitable support to ocean regeneration projects

Pillar 2: Life in Our Business

Sustainability begins within. This pillar strengthens the way Winch Design operates, from responsible procurement and accreditations to empowering every member of the business with the skills and competence to lead on sustainability.

BUILDING SKILLS AND CAPABILITY

Sustainability starts with knowledge. By investing in training and development, we are equipping our people with the skills and competence to integrate sustainability into their work.

Objectives:

Develop and embed sustainability knowledge and skills throughout the business

IMPROVEMENT THROUGH ACCREDITATIONS

Standards and accreditations provide a trusted framework for benchmarking progress and driving continuous improvement.

Objectives:

Achieve and maintain recognised sustainability accreditations

Integrate third-party sustainability standards into project design

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES

Sustainability at Winch Design starts within the business itself, through improving the efficiency and environmental performance of our operations.

Objectives:

Minimise the environmental impact of our operations across energy, water and waste

COMMUNICATING PROGRESS

Transparency is key to trust and accountability. We are committed to sharing our sustainability journey openly.

Objectives:

Keep stakeholders informed of progress across our sustainability commitments

Pillar 3: Life in Our Communities

Winch Design develops projects on land, sea, and air and has opportunities to reduce environmental impact and celebrate the beauty of the natural world that inspires every project. This pillar focuses on sustainable design, climate action, and the health of our land, oceans, and skies.

Creativity and craftsmanship thrive when opportunities are shared. Through scholarships, mentorships and partnerships with universities and industry networks, Winch helps emerging designers and craftspeople gain the skills, experience, and competence to build successful careers.
